With only a couple of weeks left until the half term break, I am sure that many of you are trying to think of ways to make sure your child gets the most out of their week off.
We will be running a sports camp at, Our Lady of Peace School, Burnham, Monday 17th to Friday 21st February, so why not bring them along! Our days are structured and organised to include a great range of different sports using quality equipment and facilities. There are so many benefits of taking part in sport as a child, such as; Health Impact •A physically active child is a healthy child. •Physical activity strengthens a child’s muscles and bones, prevents excessive weight gain, and reduces the risk of diabetes, cancer, and other conditions. •Physical activity is also beneficial to the mental health of a child. •Experts say physical activity allows children to have a better outlook on life by building confidence, managing anxiety and depression, and increasing self-esteem and cognitive skills. Social and cultural impact: •The positive effects of sport on education include improved attainment, lower absenteeism and drop-out, and increased progression to higher education. For instance, young people’s participation in sport improves their numeracy scores by 8 per cent on average above non-participants. •Other studies have found that sport programmes aimed at youths at risk of criminal behaviour can enhance self-esteem and reduce reoffending. There are just some of the reasons as to why your child should take part in regular exercise.
